THEORY OF EVOLUTION
All forms of life have derived from a common ancestor.
Man is a distant relative to the ape.
CONSEQUENCES
- The common idea in the Victorian Age was that in every man there's a primordial animal side
- Basic instincts may be present inside the civilised society
- The Italian psychiatrist Cesare Lombroso believed that there was a link between the physical appearance of a man and his tendency to be a criminal. in other words, a criminal type may be identified by the shape of the skull and forehead. in particular, he has thick hair, an aquiline nose, bushy eyebrows.
Mr Hyde is really ugly in his appearance.
There's a connection between appearance and morality.
